evolution 1.0.8 displaying html mails

gtkhtml displays all my fonts in a really ugly way; thus i can't read html mails in evolution, as the fonts are too small or unreadable; i have tried to change the fonts under the gnome-control-center, but the mails still look ugly;
i wanted to ask if if it's somehow possible to let evolution open html mails with the gecko engine; it depends on mozilla so it should be somehow integrated.. or am i wrong?
upgrading to evolution 1.2 and the newer gtkhtml isn't an option as i have tried it several times and it never worked

any help would be welcome

I think there is a font preferences dialog inside the settings menu.
