Hello
Having used Linux in the past, but not for a while, I found Gentoo Linux today, and after downloading the ISO, went through the install.
I've hit the 'seemingly common' boot-partition is reiserFS problem, and have just read the thread. However, I had already rebooted. So now I have a grub boot-disk, but don't seem to be able to do anything with it, and a full gentoo install that I don't know how to get to.
Could somebody please explain to me (in simple terms) how I can get back into my installed system, and change the boot filesystem to ext3 ?
I'm writing this from my wife's iBook, which doesn't have a floppy drive, or a cd-burner, so I can't build any new bootdisks or anything, but I really don't want to have to go throught the entire installation again.
Oh, and fwiw, I was using the notail option throughout, and grub still didn't recognise reiser - this really should be documented in the (otherwise superb) install document.
Please can someone help me ??

You can go throught the Live CD, mount the partition and then access to it, or even chroot into it.
Don't forget that the Live CD is also an install disk, as well as a Rescue Disk! Nifty !
Hope that this will help you fix your system. _________________ Lego my ego, and I'll lego your knowledge

Thank you very much.
That was exactly the information I needed. Perhaps a 'troubleshooting' section could be added to the install document, which includes this information ?
Again, many thanks.
