Downloaded the 1.4rc1 live cd to install gentoo on my laptop. However when I boot the cd it starts ok but then it starts looking for WD-7000 and just halts saying that it failed to initialize the WD-7000.

What is this? There are no scsi or raid devices on my laptop

could you be specific on
1) the hardware you do have...
2) the exact error message

clone laptop, PII 333 256 meg ram, 20 GB IDE Disk
