I have a problem with wine and counterstrike...
Playing HL single and multi player works good, but I can't start CS. I cant joina a server becouse it thinks I'm playing halflife, and when I try to start a server on my own, only the hl-maps shows up in the map selection list.
Any idea? |

try starting cs with
| Code: | | winex -- hl.exe -game cstrike -console |
which works for me. (also note you can launch day of defeat by replacing 'cstrike' with 'dod'). |

Well, actually that´s the thing that don't works =)
I get the cs-menu (play cs, settings etc.), but I can't play. |

if u want't to play over the internet just click on the console button when cs starts and then type connect followed by the ip adress u wan't to connect to.

doesn't gentoo have a half-life server in /usr/portage.
couldn't u use that one to make cs server.

That's a dedicated server install
we just want to start up CS, go to multiplayer, lan game, and hit create and BAM, have a game
dedicateds are too much work in most cases |

Got it!
I had to cd to halflife's directory, than run it with winex.
Working perfectly. |
