is there a good sparc PORTAGE_BINHOST for some of the nasty packages like openoffice? I've compiled it once on my U60-SMP-450x2 and it took like 28 hours (only to find out it had some issues and had to be removed) ... I'd rather just find a binary package if it's possible ... i'm avoiding compiling it again ... thanks

Nope, no BINHOST mirrors. If someone offers you one, don't take it -- it's possibly trojaned, and probably not using the same library versions as you. |
