|
|
Hi-
I screwed up while doing my original kernal compilation and forgot to enable my NIC. When I recompiled, I had all of the same options enabled + nic and when I looked in the /lib/modules/*/kernal/drivers directory, all of the drivers were now missing. Is there something special you have to do when recompiling? What commands do you have to do after the
make menuconfig
make dep && make clean bzImage modules modules_install
(from the installation guide)
Thanks for any help! |

Everythin seems correct, maybe you should double check, and do it again, perhaps you've missed some step. |

I don't know.. I reconfigured the kernel again, correctly with the proper module for the NIC, and I recompiled it. I looked in the directory and I only had the dummy.o... I don't know what I'm doing wrong |

Moved from Installing Gentoo.
What command(s) are you running to compile the kernel? _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Just in case: did you mark your NIC in menuconfig as a module ('M') or did you put it into your kernel ('*'). It's just that I screwed that one up some while ago and wondered where my nicely build nic-module had gone After a good night sleep I found it beeing part of the kernel and not a module |
