:x I've been trying to figure out for a while why my Quake 3 and UT both have a similar issue. I seemed to have some of the issue worked out of Quake 3, though it's still buggy. whenever I play either of these games on my system(system statistics to follow below) the HUD for UT garbles with various spritemaps, and continues to scroll through a list of various images, if I sit still and don't do anything, most of this garble returns to normal hud, but not all. and Quake 3, all kinds of different graphics in the game garble, to the point I cannot read the menus. any Ideas on what would cause this Garbling, the only difference between when they were working good and how they're working now, is I installed KDE 3.1-RC2 I tried emerging libpng, opengl, installing latest DRI Drivers for my ATI from sourceforge, nothing seems to help. Any ideas I would greatly appreciate, this garbling also seems to appear in Armagetron in the textures for the walls.

Thanks in advance

sounds definately like an ATI driver issue. you may want to try asking on the urban terror boards ( forums.urbanterror.net )
