I've recently updated my gnome stuff to 2.1.2. I updated gdm to a 2.4 series only because there was not a 2.1 version available in my portage tree. Everything built fine. When I try to login using gdm, as soon as I press enter after typing my user name, I get an "Authentication Failed" dialog. I don't even get a chance to type in a password. I can log in find using xdm, however, when I attempt to start a gnome 2 program, gconfd-1 just starts sucking up all my memory... weird stuff. Can anyone offer a solution? |
