With 76 pages i'm not sure if i've answered before so just in case:
My forum name was taken from the name I gave to my computer. That in turn was taken from The Great Ennead of nine Heliopolitan Gods Atum, Shu, Tefnut, Geb, Nut, Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys. http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/heliopolis.htm
Nine partitions split between my drives and I couldn't think of a better way to remember them. |

The server is named Frigg (after the name of a Viking godess, more or less the same than Freja or Frei), the orthers are named Mithril (after a cloth's stuff which Frodon wears in The Lord of the Rings), Goroth (after nothing I'm aware of) and my last one is Akloth (after nothing either)
But my nickname name on this forum comes from my last computer's name _________________ Pentium 4 HT 2.6GHz on ASUS P4P800/GD (=>3COM Gigabyte LAN) with Dual DDR and Samsung SpinPoint SATA HDD |

The Slackware box is called mouxla (means mold in Greek) named after the mold found on the walls of my former residence.
I'm still trying to figure out a name for my less-than-one-day-old Gentoo Linux laptop.
Update
I think I'll name it jinx.

My 2 computers are just named their models: pavilion and ipccs1. But I named my sister's computer "The Burninator" when she wasn't looking (Trogdor, homestarrunner.com). I know a guy that names all his computers after Star Trek ships / stations (DS9, Voyager, Defiant...). His home network is called Starfleet which is part of a bigger network (I think for his family business) called UFP. |

Downstairs 'family' computer over which I have no control whatsoever: DellDesktop4300 (UGH..)
I have many old 386's and 486's just sitting in my basement, I might try to get them running again if someone can help me come up with some good names for them. _________________ Hoping to install Gentoo 2007.0 soon and rejoin the Linux world
