ok, I have a USB Optival Intellimouse Explorer...I followed the directions here https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=21251&highlight=xmodmap , but I haven't been able to find a script I can the command xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4 5" to so that it will act correctly on boot up (if I type the command in manually after boot, it works fine). I use xdm to boot into Fluxbox graphically, if that helps. If someone would be so kind as to direct me to which script to modify, and how to modify it, I would greatly appreciate it. _________________ -Rajl

try putting 'exec xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4 5"&' in here:
/etc/X11/Sessions/fluxbox
right before "exec fluxbox" (or whatever it says)
but, there is probably another place you could put it, so the xmodmap is started with all windowmanagers. mabey its /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc?
