You told X to support 640x480, didn't you?
X should switch resolutions when starting q3. At least my box does, except those resolutions that are not in the "modes" section in XF86Config. These are displayed in windows. _________________ linux user 65882 |

ViewPort 0 0
EndSubsection
Subsection "Display"
Depth 16
Modes "640x480" "800x600" "1024x768" "1280x1024"
ViewPort 0 0
EndSubsection
Subsection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1152x864" "640x480" "800x600" "1024x768" "1280x1024"
ViewPort 0 0
EndSubsection

doesnt X search from the largest supported resolution to the smallest? I think this true thats why Q3 is going to a 640x840 window reverse the order and see if that helps. It's searching the 16 bit mode first. |

I think it searches from left to right...
Running X in DefaultDepth 16 has drastically improved my fps, BTW. _________________ linux user 65882 |

yea I think so too. I know it searches unti it finds a suitable resolution to match the video card. So He4D would have to reverse the order, let us know what happens |
