cups printer working, but most apps can't see it

hey,

got my printer working under cups.

I can print from kwrite

but mozilla, evolution, openoffice and others do not see the cups printer at all...

have I missed a step somewhere ? how do I get them to see it?

Do you have cups in your USE variable in /etc/make.conf? I think compiling programs with it compiles them in such a way that they can use cups... I'm a noob, so if you know for sure that this is true or false, please let us know

Link for setting up printers, there you can find informations to get the cups printer running with some applications like OpenOffice...

You can try lpr -P queue_name as printer command in applications where you can specify the printing command, then the application will send the job to your cups printing queue.
