hey,
got my printer working under cups.
I can print from kwrite
but mozilla, evolution, openoffice and others do not see the cups printer at all...
have I missed a step somewhere ? how do I get them to see it?
thanks! _________________ Kororaa install method - have Gentoo up and running quickly and easily, fully automated with an installer! |

Do you have cups in your USE variable in /etc/make.conf? I think compiling programs with it compiles them in such a way that they can use cups... I'm a noob, so if you know for sure that this is true or false, please let us know |

Link for setting up printers, there you can find informations to get the cups printer running with some applications like OpenOffice...
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/printing-howto.xml#doc_chap2
You can try lpr -P queue_name as printer command in applications where you can specify the printing command, then the application will send the job to your cups printing queue. |
