Hi, tried to run etc-update and on option 3 to see differences i get the above msg 
Any clue pls?
( i have nano installed )

Yup.
To start, anyway.
Could probably edit the etc-update script to use vim, if you really want to do it right...

I get this all the time (except that my $EDITOR is vim and so it appears instead of nano.) I have to say, etc-update seems to work perfectly despite the error messages, so I've not looked into it any further. They are a bit annoying, right enough... |
