Owk, I'm again a bit further in booting the kernel . Now I have the following problem. I get an unending loop with this message:

kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k binfmt-646c, errno = 8

(mod, don't know if I may start this new topic...?)

What file system do you have? Is it compiled in as a <M>odule or <*>?

All the filesystems are ext2, except the swap partition. But what is ext2 filesystem support. Something like (Second filesystem) or what?

Are you saying you can't find ext2 file system support in menuconfig? If your using ext2 then if I remember correctly it was selected as <*> by default. So that can't be you problem unless you deselected it by accident.

It took me a while to find out what the right options in menuconfig would work for me. I suggest keeping good notes on all your selections that you make and then make changes from there.

It works now, after compiling ELF into the kernel.
