been doing several ebuilds with KDE as my desktop... so far have installed licq , kdevel and netscape.. I have kde in my /etc/make.conf file. Here's where it gets interesting. licq and kdevel both would not build in with the desktop unless I modified /etc/make.conf to not build for kde (-kde) Netscape wont add itself with either flag but will run from a terminal window.. what am I doing wrong ? (I also ran emerge -- pretend before doing the emerges... I logged out and back in after modifying /make.conf. _________________ There are no facts...

I'm not quite sure exactly what you mean by building in with the desktop, but if what you mean is that they don't add icons to the menus or to the desktop of KDE then you have to do that manually for a lot of programs. You can do this using kappfinder or Menu Editor which should be in either the System, Utilities, or Settings menu depending on which version of KDE you emerged. _________________ Excellent.. |
