I've been trying to emerge the new version of php and when I do I tend to get this error during the configure part:
| Code: | checking for png_create_info_struct in -lpng... no
configure: error: libpng not found!
!!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 148, Exitcode 1
!!! bad ./configure |
I have libpng 1.2.1 installed i have no idea why its not finding it.
Any ideas?

yes but still nothing. So then I decided to emerge everything with emerge --update world --emptytree
same thing after that was done.

| This error is for version of PHP 4.2.0, with 4.1.2 it is OK. |

Your right with with 4.1.2 it DID work I had to just download 4.1.2 and put it in /usr/portage/distfiles then just removed the 4.2.0.ebuild files from /php and poof it worked automagically.
