Hi all,
Once again a post from my side. I hope, it will be the last for a looong
time!
Well, I'm running gentoo 2.4 with Kernel 2.4.26. I'm using the onboard
audio chip using the trident kernel module.
> lsmod
Module Size Used by Not tainted
trident 38264 0
ac97_codec 16736 0 [trident]
soundcore 4820 2 [trident]
Now, I want to configure the mixer using the audioctl tool.
audioctl always reports, that the device is missing. I tryed to create
device manually using the commands...
> mknod /dev/audioctl c 14 7
> chown root:audio /dev/audioctl
> chmod g+w /dev/audioctl
> ll /dev | grep audioctl
crw-rw-r-- 1 root audio 14, 7 Jun 30 14:13 audioctl
... but audioctl still complains about the missing device!
I also tried to use another device (audioctl -f /dev/sound/dsp) but
with no success (ioctl(getdev): Invalid argument)
I also had a look at this forum, but didn't find any reasonable answer
so far.
Has someone any idea to solve this issue?
Thanks very much for helping!
Kind regards,
