I don't have compiled screensaver, but I don't want to have such...
How to disable it...

Is there any place where the whole X startup process is described..
i.e. the sequence of scripts !?!

Here is the error I get on Gnome startup...
=========================================
There was an error starting up the screensaver:

Failed to execute child process "xscreensaver" (No such file or directory)

Screensaver functionality will not work in this session.

You can always unmerge it and then disable the warning KDE gives you when you boot it up.
