xmms and other players exit after one song

Hi,

I have this weird problem, xmms and kaboodle exit when a song ends, I have to restart them to play the next; what might be the cause of this? is it an arts problem maybe?

I use ALSA, fm801 module and arts under KDE 3.1 beta

What distro are you running? There are known problems running xmms under RedHat 8.0 that I've found. Also what version of mpg123? You could try running xmms from aterm, or xterm and then watch the output when the player is done with the song.

Try using another output plugin in xmms,
or start xmms like this: artsdsp xmms

It's a known problem.

the xmms-arts output plugin b0rks badly if compiled with gcc 3.2.

Run it using the "artsdsp" command as suggested and change the output plugin to OSS.
