Since I'm a noob to linux/kde/gnome (I guess just an all-around noob :) ), I was wondering what the favorite news readers are out there.

Well, since you asked about my fav news reader, I'm going to put my head on the block and say: Forte Agent and unfortunatly, it only runs under Windows.

I have tried Pan and several other newsreaders that works under Linux, but none of them are even close to Agent. This program is currently the only reason why I have a Windows partition on my home PC.

I use Pan here at work, it is nice, but still very crude. But then again, my demands at work is different from the ones I have at home. At home I use it to get movies and games and stuff. Here at work, I read work related newsgroups and Pan is fine for this use.

I'm in the same camp... I've been using Agent for about 7 years now... I can't picture even using anything else. Of course, I have that luxury with 2 windows and 2 linux boxes, but for a purely linux client, I'm not even sure what's out there these days!

I use mozilla. It's not the greatest but does the job fairly well. Overall I'd say I'm happy with it.

Ok, Pan it is. I installed it, and it'll do the job, though the interface took me a bit to figure out. Now that I've figured out basic functionality, it'll do everything I need it to do.

Thanks, everyone!
