Also very nice to see Debian being 2nd place... that means people want more stability than bleeding edge... and well, I still like debian a lot
but well, gentoo offers both, so ... hehehe |

Gentoo went from 13th to 6th in 4 months
Go Go Go!
Now if only they keep that poll open for another 4 months we would beat Mandrake
I have found lots of people I know using Gentoo, even people I don't like. It kind of suprises me, cause I thought no body knew about Gentoo, and now like everyone is using it. I think it is more popular on my campus than any other distro. |

Don't loose your pants yet!
Gentoo will never be the top distro. Why? Because it is too special.
You need to compile everything from source. It requires some insight into PC's. It also requires more time than most people want to put into it.
When it comes to Joe User, gentoo will never be a hit. He wants a streamlined instalaltion that is done in 15-30 minutes after which he can sit down and work.
But for the rest of us.... Gentoo all the way
