hi,
Is there a way to say something like this :
emerge -p -size gnome
And see how big is every file that will be dloaded and the total size ?
Next:
emerge -p --fetched gnome
And see wich files has been already fetched or vs. versa... not fetched.
Next :
I saw as I was browsing portage that there is a package live-CD or something what it exactly do... Does it create live-CD from what u've installed on your working gentoo .. or some statndard pack of packages ?
Next:
Does someone do mass virtual-PC-hosting, what I mean ? I would in some point do mass-hosting (or not so mass :")). My idea is to make one Gentoo and within it virtual-PC's with user-mode-linux.
Haven't looked too much in details yet.. but should it be possible to set some restrictions on all these virtual machines, based on the load of the server or clearly exact limits say : memory, hdd, cpu usage, services (say apache only, full shell access, apache+ftp .. etc.. something like profiles)
Do you use only Webmin for user administration..
Next:
How do u do Gentoo cloning on many machies, just some tips and precautions will be enoght. Not full blown description..

No, not currently.

It's a bootable CD that gives you a working linux environment. Gentoo uses it as the install CD for 1.4.

There are quite a few companies that do this. I don't have any links off the top of my head, but search around and you'll find a bunch. Not sure many/any are using UML, though.
