|
|
Hi All,
I have just installed Gentoo onto my Ultra1/Netra J machine, but am unable to erase one of the disk partitions.
Looking at the table of /dev/sda it lists:
Code: |
Disk /dev/sda (Sun disk label): 19 heads, 80 sectors, 2731 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1520 * 512 bytes
Device Flag Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda8 690 2731 1551160 8 SunOS home
|
But I can't seem to delete it!
Code: |
Command (m for help): d
Selected partition 4
|
When I look at the partition table again its still there! Any advice as how I can delete it, as the machine needs more hard disk space to be able to breathe!
Many thanks. _________________ --[ UltraSPARC ]--

dd nuke the drive.
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sd? bs=1M count=1
WARNING: This will make all data currently on your drive unusable. Unless you know how to restore partition tables, anyway
[edit]/dev/sd?, not /dev/sd??. oops...[/edit] |
