For unknown reasons, with this kernel, cupsd will hang the machine the time it starts, requiring a hard reset. Returned to 2.6.6-love4 and cupsd started up normally.

I have similar problem, cupsd won't start, but only when my printer (HP DeskJet 656C) is turned on. It wors fine with its turned off.

Just btw, Reiser-4 works fine for me (as /)

It's not the kernel that formats your partitions!

If you have reiser4 support in your kernel just use parted or whatever you normally use to create a new partition.

Parted wont be r4 aware so just let it do it's default ext2 or whatever.

quit the partition utility and do

Code:

bash-2.05b# mkfs -t reiser4 /dev/hdc10
mkfs.reiser4 0.5.4

reiser4progs/COPYING.

Block size 4096 will be used.
Linux 2.6.6-love4 is detected.

Reiser4 is going to be created on /dev/hdc10.

You get the idea.

I notice these sources support both reiser4 and 4k kernel stacks, and recently ran across this somewhat cryptic message, in which a reiser dev says 4k stacks should be off for reiser4. Perhaps there should be a warning in love-sources about this?

not just reiser4 , just about anything X will fail as well , see the more recent love thread for details.
