I have a very old dos 6.22 disk with some good games on that I want to still play, and I want to dual-boot it with gentoo. How would I boot the dos partition from grub? Would it still be 'chainloader +1'?, or is it more involved?

I believe the chainloader stuff is only for NT-kernel Windows (i.e win2k, XP etc)

With lilo you can use in /etc/lilo.conf
Code:

other=/dev/hdb1
           label=dos
           table=/dev/hdb

Grub's probably easier - can you just point it to the relevant partition and see if it works?

Hmm... after some sleep, I see that my belief about chainloading being just for NT kernels is not true with Grub (although I'm pretty sure it is for LILO).
Anyway, http://www.gnu.org/manual/grub/html_mono/grub.html#DOS%2fWindows might help?
