Hallo zusammen!
Endlich habe ich UT2004 gekauft (wegen des netten Pinguins auf der Verpackung) und nach einigen (selbstverschuldeten) Fehlerchen läuft es ziemlich gut (genauergesagt stabiler unter Tux aus unter Bill :lol: )
Nur funktioniert anscheinend der eingebaute Musikplayer nicht. In dem Auswahlmenu gelange ich nur nach / und selbst dort abgelegt .ogg´s quittiert das Spiel mit nem Absturz. Kommmt das jemandem bekannt vor?
An den .ogg´s liegts anscheinend nicht. xmms mag sie.


-- 2.5.25, Alsa mit Terratec 128 PCI (weiteres auf Anfrage, falls es nötig ist)

aber evt. UT nicht *g, naja ich meine wieso sollten die ogg suport einbauen?

aber bist du dir sicher das es unter linux besser läuft als unter windows, wenn ich die demo ohne Sound mit niedrigsten Details und 640*480 spiele hat das Spiel immer noch ein schlechter Performance als auf einen P3 1GhZ mit 265 Ram und GeFo4 TI4200, mein Rechner is ein Athlon XP 1800+, 1Gb Ram, Ti4200, Audigy2 (is zwar egal bei -nosound)

Weil die Spieleindustrie relativ früh erkannt hat, dass sie damit einen qualitativ hochwertigen Audiocodec gratis zur Verfügung haben. :D

Das mit den .ogg´s stimmt schon (siehe Amne).
Leider haben die Tipps im Gamers-Forum bei mir noch keinen Erfolg gebracht.
Mit *besser laufen* meine ich eigentlich weniger Abstürze und Ruckler unter Gentoo.
Vielleicht liegt das aber auch an den geringeren Wahlmöglichkeiten im Optionsmenue. Bei einigen Grafikeinstellungen kann ich unter Linux weniger auswählen.

--AthlonXP2000, 512RAM, GeForceFX5700Ultra
--UT läuft mit allem Maximal (soweit auswählber), Details volle Möhre, ...

Nur dieser dumme Musikplayer ... grrr ... hab gerade meine Wagner-CD´s zu .ogg´s gemacht und muss jetzt unter Win spielen :cry:

Da gibt´s jetzt eine Antwort die auf einen Thread verweist, den ich schon kenne.
Hab´ ihn mir nochmal angeguckt und gesehen, dass es doch geht :lol: . Ich habe beim ersten Mal einen Fehler gemacht :roll:.

Jetzt aber, yuppie

Einfch in HEIMATVERZEICHNIS/.ut204/System/UPlaylists.ini folgendes eintragen:

Current=0
bNeedSave=False
Playlist=/home/ut/1.ogg
                                                                               
[Engine.StreamPlaylistManager]
CurrentPlaylist=0
bShuffle=False
bShuffleAll=True

und schon kann man 1.ogg aus dem Verzeichnis /home/ut hören und spielen.

Hab mir mal ut2004 gekauft und wollte es unter gentoo installieren nur wenn ich das will dann kommt immer eine meldung "please insert the unreal tournament play disc cdrom.
Aber die CD ist doch im DVD Laufwerk und gemountet.
Und ein anderes hab ich nicht eingebaut.

Weiss jemand was ich da machen kann??
