OK
So after todays emerge -world
I reboot and the eth0 is not functional.
I thoght I told etc-update to leave it alone maybe not. 
Mine only contains:
#!/sbin/runscript
Anyway can some one post their /etc/init.d/net.eth0 ?
I would try PP0 but it may not work. |

Weird, mine went without a hitch... Perhaps you accidentally mistyped a number in etc-update and it turned evil on you? Happened to me a few times - so I switched to dispatch-conf, which rocks (search forum for documentation on it).

I was intalling gentoo 2004.1 on my p4 laptop and I had a similar problem.. I didnt reboot i was doing a emerge ati-drivers... X emerged ok but when it went to the next thing to emerge it said that there was no route to host. I typed ifconfig and eth0 was down. I had to do a manual setup to get the networking working again.. but it was odd how it just disappeared.
Any other oddities?  |
