Anyone got the above version of qmail working ?
I'm trying to run it under 2.6.6-r2, but it looks like the qmail-service service info and some directories don't seem to be created correctly on install. When I attempt to start qmail with "qmail-control start" I get a series of errors.

I have had this problem also, but then i realized that the guys here at gentoo wrote an awesome doc on this very subject.
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/qmail-howto.xml
i followed this doc and everything worked. Hope this helps you too! |

Unfortunately I followed that document during my reinstall. I've submitted a bug report to bugzilla, but that's gone really quiet.
Thanks for your advice though, it's all appreciated |

I dont know if you are trying to get the ebuild to work or just get qmail to work. If it has to do with the ebuild please disregard the following:
/service/qmail-smtpd: file does not exist
would suggest that you did not symbolic link the files...
do you have /service/qmail-smtpd ?
You should be able to run /var/qmail/rc and have qmail start up. Have you tried that? I have had the same /service issues but they all went away once i created the /service/qmail-* symbolic links to /var/qmail/supervise/*
# cd /service
#ln -s /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-send qmail-send
#ln -s /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-pop3d qmail-pop3d
#ln -s /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-smtpd qmail-smtpd _________________ <a href="https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=1019489#1019489">*LIK*</a> |
