I may just be stupid, but I just spent over an hour trying to find the 1.2 installation guide.
Does it still exist? If so, where?
I did not see any link to it from the Gentoo Main site or in this forum.
I was just trying to find the name of the (forgive the M$ reference) start-up folder. I couldn't remember the name of it, but I knew from past installations that it was referred to in the 1.2 install instructions.
(I was looking for /etc/conf.d/local.start)
It was very frustrating for me. BTW, I expect it does exist -- Probably right under my nose. Please make me look foolish. _________________ Is the sky really falling??? |

I wouldn't say you look foolsih -- AFAIK, there are no links to it. I'm not even sure why I knew where it was.
However, I believe that all documentation is maintained in CVS, so you can always poke around in there to dig up older versions of stuff. Granted -- no tthe most user-friendly way of accessing archived material, but there you have it.

Thanks Kurt. Perhaps a page on the site linking to older documents as they are obsoleted? _________________ Is the sky really falling??? |
