nothing works right with this install of xfree 4.2.1. how do i emerge xfree 4.2.0 (what my other install has.) it's not in portage. is it even possible to emerge it?
please help! _________________ I used gentoo BEFORE it was cool. |

emerge 4.2.0-r12....that was also the version that didnt screw with kde 3.0.4 if your using it too.
to do this you should have the ebuild so do somthing like
#emerge unmerge xfree
this will get rid of 4.2.1
#emerge /usr/portage/x11-base/xfree/xfree-4.2.0-r12.ebuild
this should install 4.2.0-r12
i ran emerge -eu world lastnight and when i woke up it had failed on kde due to teh bug with kde 3.0.4 and xfree-4.2.1 , but i was jsut rebuilding so all still works as it did....hopefully the release of kde 3.1 will resolve this or a new release of xfree wont have a similar borkness |
