nothing works right with this install of xfree 4.2.1. how do i emerge xfree 4.2.0 (what my other install has.) it's not in portage. is it even possible to emerge it?

please help!

You can check an older portage snapshot here. Perhaps it is in there.

emerge 4.2.0-r12....that was also the version that didnt screw with kde 3.0.4 if your using it too.

to do this you should have the ebuild so do somthing like

#emerge unmerge xfree

this will get rid of 4.2.1

#emerge /usr/portage/x11-base/xfree/xfree-4.2.0-r12.ebuild

this should install 4.2.0-r12

i ran emerge -eu world lastnight and when i woke up it had failed on kde due to teh bug with kde 3.0.4 and xfree-4.2.1 , but i was jsut rebuilding so all still works as it did....hopefully the release of kde 3.1 will resolve this or a new release of xfree wont have a similar borkness
