Has anybody gotten this to work yet? It's not even rated yet on Transgaming's site, so I know there probably hasn't been any work done on it. It looks like it's having problems loading the p5dll.dll which is located in the same directory as hitman2.exe. Here's the output I get:

Code:

gentoo Hitman 2 Silent Assassin # winex --debugmsg +all hitman2.exe

err:win32:PE_fixup_imports No implementation for SETUPAPI.dll.125(SetupDiGetClassDevsA) imported from C:\Program Files\Eidos Interactive\Hitman 2 Silent Assassin\p5dll.dll, setting to 0xdeadbeef
err:win32:PE_fixup_imports No implementation for SETUPAPI.dll.109(SetupDiDestroyDeviceInfoList) imported from C:\Program Files\Eidos Interactive\Hitman 2 Silent Assassin\p5dll.dll, setting to 0xdeadbeef
err:win32:PE_fixup_imports No implementation for SETUPAPI.dll.113(SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces) imported from C:\Program Files\Eidos Interactive\Hitman 2 Silent Assassin\p5dll.dll, setting to 0xdeadbeef
err:win32:PE_fixup_imports No implementation for SETUPAPI.dll.143(SetupDiGetDeviceInterfaceDetailA) imported from C:\Program Files\Eidos Interactive\Hitman 2 Silent Assassin\p5dll.dll, setting to 0xdeadbeef
err:module:PE_fixup_imports Module (file) HID.DLL (which is needed by C:\Program Files\Eidos Interactive\Hitman 2 Silent Assassin\p5dll.dll) not found
err:win32:PE_LoadLibraryExA can't load C:\Program Files\Eidos Interactive\Hitman 2 Silent Assassin\p5dll.dll
err:module:PE_fixup_imports Module (file) p5dll.dll (which is needed by C:\Program Files\Eidos Interactive\Hitman 2 Silent Assassin\hitman2.exe) not found

I don't really know what i'm doing, just messing with stuff I found on Google. I've tried adding WINEDLLPATH='pwd' (and manually typing the directory that pwd should give), but it still gives the exact same errors. I've also tried WINEPRELOAD for the p5dll, but it doesn't seem like it can load native dlls. Any other tips/tricks to try?

Thanks in advance,

Oh yeah, I'm using the 20020807-r1 version of winex (emerge winex) I'm also working on getting BF1942 going if anyone has any tips there.

Haven't tried it (but I might, just to see if I can get it going), but I expect at the very least, you'll need either the CVS or binary winex install. You might try unmasking the winex-cvs ebuild, or subscribe to transgaming and download the binary from a couple of weeks back. My understanding is there has been a pretty good improvement in game compatibility in the very recent winex builds, and the August version you are using is pretty out-of-date.

The cvs version gives the same output as well as Transgaming's version 2.0 (yeah, I know it's old). Transgaming's site gives it a 0/5 compatibility, so I guess I'll just be stuck waiting on them to come out with a new version that supports it.

Thanks anyway,
