Compiled and running smoothly for me so far. I'm having the same bootsplash text-wrapping problem as mentioned earlier (text only fills upper-left portion of screen). Other than that it works great. Thanks o'masterful Steel.

steel, I noticed ipw2100 isn't in there, I belive it has been several times before though. Do you happen to know anything about the success rate of that driver?

Oh and is there a way to check the version of a driver in menuconfig or does that only appear on the readout you give for each release?

APPEND: is the iriver patch gone for good? Have an "old" working 2.6.5-rc3-love1 kernel that supports it fine, this one doesn't seem to do that.

Everything working fine here accept from bootsplash, which is just filling the upper left corner.
But thats not that important. :)

love 3 was being funky for me. paused during really heavy disk i/o etc. love 4 is working much nicer.

yeah, i know it shouldn't be working better since only a few things changed and none of them related to scheduling or i/o. but hey, that's my experience with it.

I did some poking around, and tracked down the HFS and HFSPLUS undefined symbol problem. I also fixed it. Here is the fix:

Code:

       else if (atomic_read(&node->refcnt))
          res = 0;
       else for (i = 0; i < tree->pages_per_bnode; i++) {
-         if (PageActive(node->page[i])) {
+         if (PageActiveMapped(node->page[i])) {
+            res = 0;
+            break;
+         }
+         if (PageActiveUnmapped(node->page[i])) {
             res = 0;
             break;
          }

Apply this just like the love-sources patch:

Code:
copy hfs-love-fix.patch /usr/src/linux-2.6.6_rc3-love4
cd /usr/src/linux-2.6.6_rc3-love4
patch -p1 < hfs-love-fix.patch

@Steel:

This appears to have something to do with Nick's vm changes. PageActive has been replaced by PageActiveMapped and PageActiveUnmapped, which, judging by the patches already included in love-sources to deal with this, forces a check of both functions.

Warning: It links now, but I haven't tried to read any HFS or HFSPLUS file-systems yet, because I don't have any handy just at the moment. When I get to work tomorrow, I'll give it a spin.

Does anyone get win4lin running on this kernel?
I can use winsetup to install win98, but the installation process can't accept any input from keyboard or mouse.

:(

edit: I check the source code and found that line 6235 is kinda messed up like this
Code:

        0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x0^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@ etc....

edit: I've grab the nls_cp949.c from linux-2.6.5.tar.gz and overwrite it to the messed up source code and it works fine! Now I'm in love4~

From 2.6.5? No, this doesn't work. If I do this ...

Code:
fs/nls/nls_cp949.c:13709: error: `u2c_5D' undeclared here (not in a function)
fs/nls/nls_cp949.c:13709: error: initializer element is not constant
fs/nls/nls_cp949.c:13709: error: (near initialization for `page_uni2charset[93]')

And the one from last love-sources doesn't work either.
