|
|
hi folks,
i have bought an english UK keyboard and wanted to change the keyboard language in gentoo from german to english (uk)
for console i tried loadkeys, but it seems that the configuration gets lost after reboot (have to check that again)
for X i configured the XF86Config and changed Option "XkbLayout" "de" to Option "XkbLayout" "uk"
but it did not work. i am using xdm, does it use another language configuration file?
hope anyone can help
cya

To make loadkeys stick through reboots, set KEYMAP in /etc/rc.conf. As far as X goes, looking at /usr/lib/X11/xkb/keymap/xfree86, I'd guess you might have some luck with 'gb' rather than 'uk', however politically incorrect that may be. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
