I don't know what changed but after I login and type kdm, an ugly default X session starts.
When I shutdown that (from the menu) it launches kde.
It used to launch kde when I type kdm. |

I found the problem.
I added a user with Kuser.
When I saved/exited it complained about missing shadow passwords.
I also used the Login Manager/Convenience to automatically log this user in.
When i open the Login Manager, to set its options under KDE i get this error:
Couldn't create directory /usr/share/apps/kdm/pics
I changed the Login Manager/Convenience not to automatically log a user back in and it goes straight to KDE.
I checked /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow.
/etc/passwd looks correct (has the new user) but /etc/shadow IS missing quite a few entries. |
