what have i done wrong? i sticked to the manual, used a stage 3, made my kernel..... ip, hostname, gateway.... everything correct.
but gentoo can't (anymore... during install it was no problem) find my UNEX ND010 ethernet card!!!!!!!!!
what module do i have to add /what to activate inside of my kernel...
i am really lost!
i appreciate ANY help!!!!!! please mail me!!!

I don't have this card but judging from what I can find on the net it uses a RealTek 8139 chipset.
I would compile
"RealTek RTL-8139 Fast Ethernet driver"
into the kernel (not as a module) and see if that finds your card.
I see there is another driver for cards of this type but it is marked as (EXPERIMENTAL).
I would try that one next if the first one doesn't work. Good luck.

Looks like you either did not build the appropriate module when you built the kernel or you need to load it via the /etc/modules.autoload file.
As far as I can see it's a 'realtek' driver.
Did you write down the output when Gentoo installed and did it's probing for PCI devices?
You can still boot to the install CD, let it probe for devices and get the name of the appropriate module without having to install. _________________ Talk is cheap because supply always exceeds demand. |
