I emerged Winex on my laptop and installed diablo 2.
Everything works fine, but I have no sound and in the options menu (in Diablo) the Sound Menu is not usable (is gray) as if I didn't have a soundcard at all.
Someone can Help me?

My card uses these modules:
i810_audio
ac97_codec

if you're using gnome or kde make sure the sound server (eg. arts) is OFF

you may need to close xmmx if you're using oss, i've found that helps conflicts.

Do you mean xmms instead of xmmx? In fact any app that has the sound devices open (/dev/dsp and /dev/mixer, typically) could prevent any other app from playing sound.

Also winex seems to play nicer with oss drivers changing to oss drivers resolved alot of sound issues I was having under alsa

Cheers
