|

I am using kernel 2.4.24 on sun ultra 10. During boot
/proc is mounted
starts devfsd
activate swap
remount root
checks root fs /dev/hda4
remount root root filesystem r/w
setting hostname
calculating module dependencies
checking all filesystems.....
/dev/hda1 is mounted. e2fsck: Cannot continue, aborting.
*Fsck could not correct all errors, manual repair needed.
I do the repairs through fsck but even after that on reboot the same sequence is repeated. I am not too sure it is my disk fault or it is problem with the mounting the system.
Can somebody help ? |

I think that if your root is mounted it has to be mounted r/o not r/w. perhaps you should try re-emerging your initscripts?
Code: | emerge sys-apps baselayout |
Then run etc-update and overwrite your existing init scripts.
