something about fonts...

well i've tried to see if there is anything about this in the foroums but i didn't find anything. anyhow, it seems that in gnome2 it only uses fonts that are iso8859, well neat but a lot of ttf fonts are ascii, so how does one go about making ascii fonts work in gnome2?

if you are wondering i am talking about the rgstry setting from xfontsel

anyhow any clues?
