Okay,
I want the following runlevels, I think, but let me state my goals first.
The rc-script doc, wasn't exactly explicit about creating a new runlevel, just mentions nonetwork as an example.
goals: modify gentoo to fit my dell inspiron 8100 situation.
use a port replicator as well.
Allow variances in docked, undocked, nonetwork in startup services.
docked
should not start net.eth0
should start xdm (gdm really)
undocked
should not start net.eth1
should start xdm (gdm really), but with alternate XF86Config file
should check for presence of wireless card and bring up if present.
So the questions are:
How do I add a new virtual runlevel to gentoo?
Is it as easy as copying the default direcotry in /etc/runlevels
and modifying it?
Do any commands need to be run after the new directory is created?
How does /etc/inittab need to be modified to accomodate the new runlevel?
Thanks for the help,
