help!

i was all excited last night that i got the system too boot of the raid controller , i have a problem my menu.lst is not working

default 0
timeout 15
splashimage=(hd0,0)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz

title=SSENN Gentoo Linux on RAID
root (hd0,0) <== this is ok
kernel /boot/bzImage root=/dev/ataraid/disc0/part3 <== this is where i am having the problem


Partion layout:
-2x 80g (8mg cache) drives

/dev/ataraid/disc0/part1 /boot (raid1)
/dev/ataraid/disc0/part2 /swap (raid0)
/dev/ataraid/disc0/part3 / (raid0)
/dev/ataraid/disc0/part4 /home (raid0)

this is my /etc/fstab -- to follow

/dev/ataraid/disc0/part1 /boot reiserfs noauto,noatime,notail 1 1
/dev/ataraid/disc0/part3 / reiserfs noatime,notail 0 0
/dev/ataraid/disc0/part2 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/ataraid/disc0/part4 /home reiserfs noatime,notail
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,ro 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0

VFS: Cannot open root device "ataraid/disc0/part3" or 00:0a
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 00:0a


help i just cant figure it out!!

Instead of selecting an option to boot from the Grub menu, there should be an option to enter commands manually. I forget what it is. From the Grub prompt, what does find /boot/grub/bzImage output?
