|

Ok, my ongoing saga continues
Now on the stock 2.2 debian kernel the second harddrive (hdd) shows up with an error on boot:
read_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
I've googled some for it but the only references I can find to it are problems with RAID-controllers and such on the x86 arch.
Bear in mind that I have no option of attaching a CD-drive to it. So I can't boot from live cds or anything to check it out.
Anyone recognize the prob? |

I might be wrong but, I don't believe you can boot a Miata from an IDE hard drive. You have to boot from a SCSI drive, iirc.
Unless you can get a working SCSI controller (Miata GL's had them onboard, earlier models wer PCI cards), you might be SOL.

No problem booting from IDE, I've done it a few hundred times Both CD and HD.
The problem occurs when I try to mount a second hd so I can install gentoo.
Thanks anyway |
