Unable to load kernel after compilation ("clean" i

Hi everyone.

Yesterday I was trying to install 1.4. Everything went ok until
I started kernel's compilation. I got lot of warrnings (something
like "gcc1: maling-function ...."), but finished without ant error.
Then I made a copy of bzImage to /boot, rebooted but the load
stopped at "Uncompressing kernel...." with the error message
"out of input parameters".

What could be wrong ???

I turned the SMP option off, then

make mrproper (backup your configuration before doing this !!!!!!!!)
make oldconf (or make oldconfig, restore your configuration before doing this !!!!!!!!)
make dep ... and so on.

And finally I got working system.
