Hardware MPEG-2 Decoding On An ATI 9100 M/B (or anything)

Heya,

I'm looking to build a cheap, low power PVR which uses a hardware MPEG-2 capture card and some sort of hardware MPEG-2 decoder with TV-out.

Does anyone know whether the ATI 9100 chipset's hardware MPEG-2 decoder is supported under Linux?

Failing that, does anyone know what hardware MPEG-2 decoders are supported?

I'm also open to any pointers to other places to look (i.e. mythtv, xine, xfree86 forums/mailing lists).

In case anyone else wants and answer to this question: I hunted about some more and found that the Gatos project is the answer for hardware MPEG-II decoding under ATI chipsets.
