'emerge system' fails on my SS20, now what?

I get the following error when I try to emerge system.

I got pages of lines that look like the next 4 and then this at the end, the following lines are verbatum.

And then I just get the command like cursor. So any ideas no how to fix this so I can emerge the system?

This is covered in https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41820. Seems to be a problem with the smp kernel most likely.

Thing is that I can't even boot the SMP kernel, I was running the single processor kernel. I will follow the link and see if it helps though and thanks alot.
