Since I got a segmentation fault upon launching the Evolution 1.2 beta I decided to just settle for the version in the portage. So after 'emerge unmerge evoltion' (to get rid of the beta) I did an 'emerge evolution' and after a bit of compilation I get this error:
Code:
Making all in composer
make[2]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/evolution-1.0.8-r1/work/evolution-1.0.8/composer'
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/share/gtkhtml-1.1//gtkhtml/Editor.idl', needed by `Editor.h'.  Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/evolution-1.0.8-r1/work/evolution-1.0.8/composer'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/evolution-1.0.8-r1/work/evolution-1.0.8'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

!!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 59, Exitcode 2
!!! (no error message)

Could the reason be that I installed a couple of masked, newer, versions of some of Evolutions dependencies to make the Beta compiling?

Thanks for your help. :)

hmm.. now that I look closer it seems like it is caused by that I run gtkhtml1.1.2 instead of 1.0.4 and maybe old evoltion has no support for that...

*tries it out*

I really should test things out more before posting :D

heh, yepp, that did the trick.... if anyone else got the same problem, your resolution is to unmerge gtkhtml1.1.2 and emerge 1.0.4 instead. :)

*hides in his hole again*
