I am in the same boat. I had an older system working fine with the prior versions of Myth and GCC 3.x. Now with GCC 4 and current upgrade (including complete recompile of world) I still get the segmentation fault only on mythfrontend.

Something is not right... I'm going to try an strace on it but ...

Just to add another solution on to this thread, if you're mounting your music collection via CIFS/Samba, upgrade Samba on the server side. I had to do that to get amarok to not crash while building the collection. Only now, every time it scans, it adds another name to the album list for each song so ...

I have an Asus K8V SE Deluxe and it is very picky about memory. Does your motherboard manufacturer have a list of approved modules? Normally, that information is bogus but in this case (with the AMD 64) I believe it is valid information although always slightly outdated.
