Re: LXC Container Boot/Shutdown errors

I have an additional update:

Besides /dev/pts, there were additional file systems that were being remounted as read-only. This got me to grep for the remount text in /etc and it led me to /etc/init.d/halt.sh

mobus etc # grep -R "Remounting remaining filesystems" *

There has been limited progress on the /dev/pts issue as follows:

A user Guido Jaekel (sp?) on the lxc-users mailing list has offered the following (and a larger description of what is going on) which I verify to work:

After applying an

host # mount -o remount,rw /dev/pts

the container will ...

LXC Container Boot/Shutdown errors

I'm hoping that some of the experienced LXC users in here can help me out with a couple of errors.

I've used the lxc-gentoo script to produce a container and so far it gets me to a booting container which seems to work, but with the following issues:

1) I get the following message on boot ...

kdelibs-3.5.2-r6 problem building: cannot find -llualib50

Howdy! I'm somewhat stuck in the middle of an emerge update world. kdelibs-3.5.2-r6 does not seem to want to build at all, seemingly due to a lack of lualib50 (not a typo, not liblua50.so). The output at the end of the emerge is as follows:

Hi,

package.unmask is obsolete, use package.keywords instead e.g.:

Are you sure? Is it possible you are confusing:

/usr/portage/profiles/package.mask

and

/etc/portage/package.mask

Cheers,

Buzz - I took your advice and did all your steps
1. unmerge mplayer
2. move all my settings for backup (/etc/mplayer.conf and the version in my home directory)
3. set the ~x86 in /etc/portage/package.keywords
4. emerge -uavD xine-ui xine-lib mplayer

But still have no luck. Any other ideas? I ...

Add "nvidia" to USE. I noticed it missing in Buzz's output of `emerge -vp mplayer`.

That's because I use an ati video card on that machine. :) The effect seems unrelated to the brand of video card being used, or at least it appears to affect both brands.

Cheers,

Buzz

I have the same problem with gmplayer (fullscreen with "f" and pause with space not working properly). It started after I upgraded the Kernel from 2.6.7 to 2.6.12-rc1. I'm not sure what the problem is. Perhaps a timing issue.

The two keys still work properly when the interface window (the one with ...

This is something new I haven't came across before. Anyways, when I run gmplayer, the mplayer GUI. The gui doesn't retain its regular colors. Everything is blue.

Here is a screenshot of it: http://img146.exs.cx/img146/6791/200504021451481024x768scrot9vk.png

Either of those cards are total overkill if you just want decent dual monitor support, an FX5200 would do that just fine. Just make sure whatever card you get comes with a dvi->vga adaptor if you need one, they're usually way overpriced when sold separately.

Thank you for the suggestions. I did ...
