Hi, I recompiled CMAKE 3.31.5. But, I'm still unable to compile the latest version of QT5Compat getting the same error messages. Additionally, I tested all my CPU cores with 'stress-ng' using the following command:
stress-ng --cpu <core> --verify --verbose --timeout 5m

Normally, when I try to build qt5compat, the error that is being printed has to do with the fact that it can't import qtgraphicaleffects:

When trying to reinstall QTBASE 6.8.2 with the following command:
emerge -1av qtbase
I receive again a Segmentaition fault error . Nonetheless, QTBase is still installed on my gentoo system drive:

After proceeding with my epic update from profile 17.1 to 23.0 amounting to over 840 packages, I faced several issues related to QT. One problem which I can't resolve has to do with trying to install the latest QT5Compat library 6.8.2. If I enter the following command:
emerge -1av dev-qt/qt5compat ...

Thanks for your quick help. Indeed, I had some old libraries in my /usr/local/lib folder, which I removed. After that, I was able to successfully install the newest version of QTBase.

I solved the problem by just downgrading xorg-server to 1.20.11.

The problem is already known and being discussed under this link:

It has to do with the latest release of the xorg-server, i.e. 1.20.12.

How can I apply the patch to my gentoo installation? Or is it better to downgrade to 1.20.11?

Thank you very much, holger. That was the cause of the build errors. I finally could compile qtwebengine.

I found out that the libraries of the plugins are installed in:

/usr/lib/xfce4/panel/plugins/

Since I'm running gentoo on a 64 bit system I moved the libraries into the folder:

/usr/lib64/xfce4/panel/plugins/

I also had to edit one *.desktop-file so it looks like this now:

[Xfce Panel ...

I just figured it out by myself. The external plugins are now loaded by the panel.

I'm using a RPI4 and I installed some plugins which I downloaded from https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/start . The plugins were compiled correctly and placed in /usr/lib/xfce4/panel/plugins

these are the libs of the plugins: libpulseaudio-plugin.la libpulseaudio-plugin.so libweather.la ...

:D My waveshare soundcard finally works. So far I've adjusted the channels in alsamixer. But to solve this problem I used amixer instead. These steps were helpful for me:

1) Set the default device for pulseaudio
pacmd set-default-sink 1

2) List all the channels of my waveshare
amixer -c 1
