fbsplash, initrds and live-cds

I successfully ported fbsplash to Arch Linux and we are now trying to implement it within Archie, the main Arch Live-CD. According to the splashutils docs:

Well, we could have two search.phps - one would be the regular one for the site and search2.php could be used by the firefox plugin to always sort by threads - I am still have problems with an AND search by default tho - that is the main problem - 100 results for the word "is" is no good for anyone!

Hello,

I'm refering to the firefox gentoo forum searchplugin listed here - as far as I can tell there are no special commands in the plugin that effect the results display - so I assume the changes must be in search.php - is it possible to have a list of those changes?

Forum Customization Questions

I have a few questions about the customizations that have been made to the forum.

1) Glance: how have you reduced the fields/columns shown in the list? I can't seem to find an explanation - just people saying they have done it - [FIXED] you need to edit the template glance_body.tpl
2) How/Why does ...

I have read all through all the scripts in splashutils-gentoo and they are very complicated, especially when I don't have any acces to the main rc script which calls them - so I can't see how they are used! The complex method gentoo appears to use for starting it's services is also well over my head ...

I maintain unofficial support for gensplash for Arch Linux - I managed to hack together our initscripts from various sources and it's been going along pretty well, we had silent splash working fine.

However, spocks lastest stuff has me completely defeated. Without a gentoo install and an in depth ...

i fixed my hard lock - i was compiling my kernels with the clock tick speed set to 200HZ - it seems that was causing my crash as 500HZ works just fine Hope you all get yours sorted too.

just as a note xorg upgrade didn't fix my issue either

i recompiled without fbsplash - and i still get the crash reproduced using xscreensaver!

that means the other two changes i made: adding reiser4 and changing the tick have resulted in the problem returning but i agree that it is almost certainly a combination of factors that are different in ...

I'm from Arch Linux but i'm just posting here as i have this problem - i am number two - total and utter lock up.

it happens to me when most xscreensavers starts - i use the preview to test for the crash. you might say it is xscreensaver but it isn't, i tried it with previous versions of xscr and ...
