I finished to have a full working Gentoo on my old deprecated laptop, and it was a long and hard process to get it working with a full graphical interface. But now it works like a charm and is fast. It is amazing to have a system especially tuned for my hardware.

I like to use -Os over -O2 personally, the minor performance win for -O2 is not worth the extra memory and hard disk consumption, and the cache would not necessarly be more efficiently used.

I used to have -march=core2 but I don't know if I should switch to =native.
